Pat Moran, MBA
Pat holds an MBA from Henley Management College (now known as Henley Business School and part of Reading University). Having graduated from Henley in 2002, Pat worked with Henley for over six years as a Programme Manager, Tutor, and Lecturer. He has lectured on a wide range of business topics (e.g. Operations, Marketing, Finance, and Strategy at MBA level) with Henley in Ireland, UK, Holland, Belgium, Greece, Kenya, Ghana, and South Africa. He has mentored and supported MBA students from all over the world both face-to-face and online – even as far away as Vietnam and China.
In more recent years, Pat has held a variety of positions in Dublin in colleges such as Abbey College (QA Manager), St. Patricks International College (Registrar), and Liffey College (Director of Studies).
Prior to studying for his MBA, Pat worked as a Biomedical Engineer - installing and maintaining life support and laboratory equipment in hospitals and laboratories in Ireland and the Middle East.
He is particularly interested in Organisational Psychology, Motivational Theories, Online Learning and related Web-based Technologies, and Neuro-Linguistic Programming.
Pat enjoys working with and learning new software. He is proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office applications. He is a major fan of mind-mapping and visualisation software such as Mindjet and Visio. He has written database applications for tracking students on the various academic programmes he managed. He also has written his own bibliographic database application (using Visual dBase). He uses Adobe Framemaker as the publishing application to write the course manuals he provides. Pat designed and maintains this website using Adobe Dreamweaver.
Pat holds a Train the Trainer certification from NUI Maynooth and an Online Tutor certification from Henley Management College.
