Advanced Outlook for Managers
This intensive workshop is aimed at people working in a managerial function who already are familiar with the modules in Outlook (Email, Contacts, Calendar, Tasks, and Notes).
The focus of this workshop is on how to use Outlook optimally to manage your goals and tasks through efficient use of the email, calendar, and tasks modules in Outlook.
The workshop draws on the writings of leading authorities in this field such as David Allen, author of Getting Things Done, Michael Linenberger, a leading expert on the use of Outlook, Stephen Covey, and many others.
The workshop is divided into two sections as follows:
Fundamental Concepts of Goal and Task Management
This part of the workshop (typically a half-day) concentrates on the fundamentals of goal and task management. Topics covered include:
- Personal Alignment with a Mission
- Personal Motivational Needs
- Goals and Objectives
- Cognitive Loading
- Task and Calendar Management
- Importance of Measurement
- Importance of Rewards.
Using Outlook to Manage your Goals, Tasks, and Calendar
In this second part of the workshop (again, typically a half-day, held one week later), the key topics covered in the first session are implemented using Outlook. Key topics covered include:
- Managing your Inbox
- Managing Email Folders
- Using Automatic Rules for Sorting Emails
- Using Automatic Rules for Generating Alerts
- Using the Calendar
- Managing Tasks
- Configuring Task List Views in Outlook
- Delegating Tasks.
